We have extensive experience of developing a range of frameworks and standards for assessing and improving performance along with guidelines for good practice.  We also have wide experience of facilitating the application of these frameworks and developing guidance and training materials.

 Active Partners benchmarks and indicators

Active Partners is a set of benchmarks and guidelines for planning and assessing community participation in regeneration initiatives.  The benchmarks, originally developed on behalf of Yorkshire Forward for use by Single Regeneration Budget schemes, have been adapted for use by a wide range of regeneration programmes and projects.  Assessing Community Strengths

Assessing Community Strengths grew out of a piece of work developed and tested in Bradford. It has been applied in many neighbourhoods and partnership areas across England and Wales as a systematic approach to community led capacity building strategies.  Publication details


 Community Development Framework

This framework, developed for the South Yorkshire Objective 1 Directorate, aims to help communities and neighbourhood ‘anchor’ organisations to plan and assess their progress and development in relation to key capacity building themes.

 Community Involvement Toolkit for Museums, Archives and Libraries.

This is a set of standards and guidelines which provides a practical resource around enhancing community involvement for those working in the heritage sector.

 PERFORM: Planning and Assessing Outcomes for Infrastructure

This current contract is one of the developments being funded through the ‘Change Up’ programme.  COGS is developing an outcomes based framework and application guidelines for use by voluntary and community sector infrastructure organisations.


 Performance Management Framework for Community Empowerment Networks

This is a tool to help focus, improve and assess the performance of community empowerment networks in relation to the Single Community Programme.  Many networks have been supported to apply the framework in a creative manner for annual reviews.
